How We Paint Dogs

How the Painting Process Works

What you envision is what is important to us. If you have any special considerations or ideas you want us to implement in your painting, it’s important that you inform us as soon as possible because it’s how our process works and it’s how we paint dogs.

After you purchase your painting, you will be directed to upload the photo you want our artists to paint. The process for upload is pretty straight forward but, if you’ve never done it before and are having a bit of trouble,  please click here to contact us for help.

After you’ve ordered and uploaded your dog’s photo the actual painting process will begin.

The artist begins with a pencil drawing outline. The process is about 10-14 days and involves many layers of paint.

After the painting is finished, we have a fairly complex quality control system. Clearly, the painting is the artist’s work and nothing will be changed dramatically. But, your desires are the most important part of the process because you know your dog best. So other artists and non-artists will compare the piece of art to your photo looking for inconsistencies and minor errors.

Fresh perspectives are always welcome in our studios. There are no big egos here to be hurt! Well, let’s rephrase that a bit. Confident artists are an important part in creating your painting because that’s how you get great paintings. So artists who understand your vision are what make for great artwork and happy customers. And our artists know this well.

After we are happy with the painting we will send you some hi resolution photos.

At his point in the process, the paintings are almost always perfectly done. But again, it’s your work of art and you might have some further suggestions. All of which are enthusiastically desired by us. It’s what makes our paintings as good as they are, day after day, year after year.

Once we have your final approval the painting will be shipped out in a crush proof container.

That’s our process. See you there.
